Dr. Kanessa Miller Doss

Ph.D., School Psychology, Auburn University

I love to bake and I love to read—though not usually at the same time.

I earned my doctorate in school psychology with a counseling concentration from Auburn University. I also hold two master’s degrees from Auburn—one in school counseling and one in biology education—and a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Alabama A&M University. I am drawn to psychology because it honors the complexity of human beings and recognizes our incredible capacity for growth, healing, and change. It is a field that embraces both who we are and who we can become.

I am committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture that empowers students to reach their full potential. I love the fact that this is done through technology within distance education. I get to meet students from a variety of locations.
