When not teaching, I love exploring the Pacific Northwest, kayaking, dabbling in aerial yoga, and hanging out with my spouse and kids.

As an undergraduate, I majored in Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Aging and Human Development. In graduate school, I focused on Applied Linguistics, education, and teaching English to students of other languages. My coursework in these areas has been invaluable as a career English as a second/additional language teacher. When I teach students of all ages, I consider their individual circumstances within the broader context of human development. I love light bulb moments and being able to help narrow down a problematic area to be a successful triumph. tic area to be a successful triumph.

One of the things I like most about distance education is the flexibility. Students are no longer tied to strict course schedules and room numbers on large campuses. They can do school when it fits into their busy lives in a place that works best for their circumstances.
