I’ve got more than 20 years’ experience in online course development, quality assurance, instructional design, and 508 compliance. When I’m not working at the University of Mississippi, you can find me playing bass with my husband or baking bread and making pickles and jams to sell at our local farmer’s market.

I majored in Biology (neurobiology and behavior) at Cornell, and was a zookeeper and vet tech for many years before transitioning through newspaper editing to instructional design.

I love training faculty and staff in best practices of online course development, including making all online courses fully accessible. I’m a troubleshooter, so I enjoy finding and repairing problems with existing courses and creating course templates tailored to the pedagogical needs of self-paced, self-directed online education.

In distance education, students teach themselves with just a little help. All learning boils down to self-education, but it’s distilled to purity in distance education.
