I grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, son of an archaeologist and an artist. I traveled a lot as a kid and a little as an adult. I love art, music, history, and Twitter hashtags.

I have been teaching and researching at Midwestern universities except for two summers doing archaeology for the University of South Carolina in the 1970s. Even as a retiree, I am still interested in language studies, professional jargon, and state authorization policy.

Something I really love about distance education and independent learning is the ability to reach out to many students worldwide. I enjoy my engagement with ADEIL because I like conferring with colleagues who are dedicated to their field and who are discovering new technologies and avenues for success.
